Overview
Audubon Adventures Summer Camp is a fantastic opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the wonders of Arizona’s Sonoran Desert while learning about wildlife, science, and the environment. Designed for kids in grades 3-6, this week-long camp combines hands-on activities with an exciting overnight camping trip, making it a summer experience to remember.
From Monday to Wednesday, campers participate in engaging activities at the Phoenix-based center, including nature hikes, archery, solar snack-making, and unique games that bring science and environmental education to life. The fun doesn’t stop there—on Thursday morning, campers head to Camp Colley near Payson on the Mogollon Rim for an overnight adventure under the stars. Activities like hiking, archery, stargazing, games, and classic campfire s’mores await them. All transportation, meals at Camp Colley, and necessary equipment are provided.
The camp emphasizes outdoor exploration and environmental awareness while fostering teamwork and curiosity. Campers receive a camp T-shirt and reusable water bottle as part of their enrollment. Snacks are provided each day, though participants should bring a sack lunch for Monday through Wednesday. Comfortable outdoor attire, closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, and hats are recommended to make the most of the desert mornings.
Audubon Adventures balances education with fun, offering kids a chance to connect with nature while building confidence and making new friends. It’s an ideal choice for parents seeking an enriching summer experience that combines learning with unforgettable outdoor adventures!
