Boch Center Summer Leadership Program

Boch Center Summer Leadership Program

United States, Boston

Overview

Picture a summer filled with rhythm and rhyme, where young leaders find their voice and make a difference. Welcome to the Boch Center's City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program. This isn't your typical summer camp, but rather a lively fusion of music, theatre arts, leadership training, and career exploration. Within this vibrant experience, over 60 teenagers are given the golden opportunity to develop real-world skills they'll need for the future. Each day, they dive into an arts-based curriculum, guided by local teaching artists and seasoned professionals. The goal? To empower our future leaders to take charge, not only for personal and professional growth but also to become active contributors within their communities. The canvas of their summer's work is broad and dynamic. They participate in community advocacy workshops, make their voices heard at the Massachusetts State House, and even perform an original arts piece at the Shubert Theatre on a topic close to their hearts – social justice. In this empowering setting, teenagers transform into Teen Leaders. They meet Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, and are paid for their dedication and hard work. The reward? They gain valuable arts and leadership training, preparing them for a final showcase performance and their future community engagement efforts. The Boch Center's City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program is where the arts meet activism, and where future leaders are forged. A summer here isn't just about passing the time but shaping the future through art, action, and advocacy.
