Overview

On this California Adventure expedition, you’ll start by hiking through the stunning wilderness of the Shasta‑Trinity National Forest, navigating granite domes and glacier-carved valleys where you’ll get your first taste of serious backcountry adventure. Next, it’s off to a thrilling day of whitewater rafting on the Trinity River, letting rapids, splash and laughter carry you downstream.

After that, you’ll explore the trails of the Tahoe National Forest, mountain-biking through terrain ranging from fun and flowy to bold and technical, tailored to your own pace. Rock-climbing at Donner Summit offers another chance to test your skills on high-quality granite routes while being immersed in alpine wilderness. Then comes a two-day journey around Lassen Peak — exploring lava tubes and hydrothermal features before summiting the 10,457-foot peak at dawn.

To finish off strong, you’ll raft again, this time on the famed American River, where bigger rapids and bigger smiles await. No previous experience is necessary—this trip is made for all levels and designed to teach everything you need as you go. Throughout the journey, you’ll unplug from screens, lean into a tight-knit team, and forge friendships under starlit skies. With expert gear, stellar instructors, and a 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio, this adventure is as safe as it is exhilarating. By the end of the two weeks, you’ll come away not just with stories—and maybe a few new scars—but a stronger sense of independence, resilience, and confidence.
